Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) Program
Responder Support Services is proud to introduce our new Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) Program, designed specifically to support First Responders in addressing PTSD, treatment resistant depression, and other long-standing mental health challenges.
This innovative and evidence-based treatment integrates the therapeutic potential of combining micro-dosing of ketamine with guided psychotherapy, offering a powerful tool for healing and transformation.
-
Ketamine is a legal prescription medication used for decades as a dissociative anesthetic. Over the last few years, the benefits of its use, off-label, as a medicine to treat depression, anxiety, and PTSD is becoming more mainstream, especially when combined with specialized psychotherapy protocols.
-
First Responders face repeated exposure to traumatic events, high-stress situations, and demanding work environments. These experiences can lead to significant and long-standing mental health challenges, such as:
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Complex trauma
Depression
Anxiety
Emotional numbing
Burnout
KAP provides a pathway to explore and improve these issues in a safe, supported, and structured environment, helping First Responders process trauma and find relief from emotional pain.
-
No one understands the unique needs and challenges of First Responders like Responder Support Services. Our KAP program is designed to provide compassionate, culturally competent care that respects the experiences and values of this community. We combine cutting-edge treatments with a deep commitment to holistic wellness, ensuring clients feel empowered, honored and supported through the healing journey.
Program Highlights
Personalized Treatment Plans: Each client receives a customized treatment plan tailored to unique needs and goals.
Trauma-Informed Care: Sessions are facilitated by licensed therapists with extensive experience in trauma-focused care as well as extensive training in and experience with Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy.
Safe and Supportive Environment: Ketamine is administered in a comfortable, controlled, medically supervised setting to ensure client safety.
Integration Sessions: Clients are supported through pre and post-ketamine therapy sessions to process insights, emotions, and new perspectives gained during their medicine experience.
Benefits of Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy
Rapid Symptom Relief: Research indicates that ketamine can provide rapid relief from symptoms of depression, anxiety, and PTSD, sometimes within hours or days.
Enhanced Processing of Trauma: Ketamine’s effects on brain connectivity and emotional processing can help access and work through traumatic memories in a way that feels less overwhelming.
Facilitation of Emotional Insight: KAP fosters a deep sense of introspection, helping identify patterns, beliefs, and emotions tied to struggles with excess anxiety or depression.
Neuroplasticity: Ketamine promotes neuroplasticity, engaging the brain to form new, healthier neuropathways and build alternative perspectives.
Improved Coping Strategies: Through therapy and integration sessions, clients develop practical tools to manage stress, emotions, and challenges in their daily lives.
Brief Treatment Protocol: Typically KAP is completed in 3-6 medicine sessions with equal number of integration sessions. Some clients continue with monthly or bi-monthly maintenance sessions for a period of time.
