Nick received his masters degree from John Brown University in Marriage and Family Therapy with an emphasis in community counseling in 2014. He is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a licensed supervisor for provisionally licensed clinical mental health counselors.

Nick spent 8 years in public mental health in multiple settings that included adolescent day treatment, a trauma-focused intensive outpatient program, and a specialized integrated program focused on providing mental health support and services to families involved in the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians child welfare system where he was also the supervisor of the mental health team.
