Kennedy Heard
Clinician
Kennedy recently graduated from Clemson University where she received her Master’s degree along with an Educational Specialist degree for Counselor Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology with an emphasis in neuroscience from the University of Georgia (still a Dawgs fan at heart).
While in school, Kennedy gained experience working in both private practice and inpatient treatment centers settings primarily seeing adolescents and adults. She uses an integrative theoretical approach that blends concepts and techniques from Reality, Acceptance and Commitment and Cognitive-Behavioral therapies. She provides a welcoming and inclusive environment, eager to learn and help others.
Kennedy admires the strength and selflessness that first responders possess. She sees this firsthand by the friends and family she knows serving the community. In graduate school, she spent her time studying research on First Responders wellness. She is enthusiastic to start working with this group and gain knowledge while on the job.
