Michael Baun
Clinical Intern
Michael is a student at Appalachian State University pursuing his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and an Addiction Counseling Graduate certificate.
Michael is a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as an aircraft mechanic for F-15s. During his time in the military, he also worked as a Mental Health Associate, monitoring and escorting service members to ensure their safety and well-being. After the military, Michael moved to Raleigh, where he earned his BA in Sociology at North Carolina State University. He volunteers for Team Red, White & Blue to assist veterans in building a healthier lifestyle, focusing on mental and physical health. He also volunteers for Service2School, mentoring service members and veterans to get into higher education.
Michael understands the importance and need to provide therapy to our First Responders. He wants to serve that community and give them the help they need. He is a firm believer in the embedded therapy approach and hopes to build relationships with everyone he works with. While interning with RSS, Michael will be embedded at Skyland Fire Department.
