Magen Henley

Clinician

Magen received both her Bachelor and Master of Social Work from East Carolina University. She initially worked as a case manager in community behavioral health and served as the liaison with the local Family Accountability and Recovery Court during this time. It was during this time that she gained knowledge about both acute and chronic mental illness as well as substance use. Once licensed, Magen then went on to pursue her career in a clinical setting, further enhancing her education and experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, and adults.

Magen is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional I and relies heavily on the interpersonal process in therapy to communicate with her clients, make them feel heard and understood, and create a strong therapeutic alliance to work through presenting issues collaboratively. Though her approach often stems from an emotion-focused or cognitive-behavioral lens, She understands that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all and tailors sessions based on the clients needs.

The strength and selflessness of first responders does not go unnoticed by Magen and she is hopeful to provide care that decreases stigma around mental health. She is excited to be working with such an admirable group of people, furthering her knowledge about the first responder community.
